Eleftherios Nicolaides MD
Dr. Eleftherios Nicolaides obtained his medical degree after graduating from the University of Johannes Gutenburg, Mainz, Germany.
After completing all his medical training in the U.K., he was awarded the MRCP(UK) and is a member of the Royal College of Physicians.He has specialized in cardiology and more specifically in electrophysiology, which deals with arrhythmias and the management of devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. He is responsible from the time of implantation to the on-going management.
He returned to Cyprus in 2009 and was employed as a consultant cardiologist at Nicosia General Hospital for 7 years. He is now practising at our institute since 2017.
Being passionate about education and the importance of appropriate teaching, he obtained a Master’s Degree (Magister Artium) in pedagogical sciences from the University of Cyprus. He is currently also working as a clinical associate professor in cardiology at St George’s Medical School at the University of Nicosia and since June 2017 he was appointed as Associate Director of the Postgraduate Clinical Training Programme (foundation year) in Cyprus. Additionally, he served as Academic Lead at Nicosia General Hospital, having overall responsibility for the delivery of the MBBS programme of the SGUL curriculum.
His two main goals and objectives at present is to offer high quality of patient care in the field of cardiology and especially in his area of expertise. Being very active in the medical education field he is dedicated to continue teaching as he suggests is the milestone in improving medical care for future generations.
