Switching to a healthy diet does not have to be an all or nothing approach. You don’t have to completely eliminate from your diet the foods you enjoy and you don’t have to change everything in a single day.
The cornerstone of a healthy diet should be to replace processed foods with real food whenever possible. A good approach is to set modest and realistic goals as this can help you achieve more in the long term without feeling deprived.
While some extreme diets may suggest otherwise, we all need a balance of protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals in our diets to sustain health. You don’t need to eliminate any food groups from your diet, but rather select the healthiest options from each food group.
